Sat 10 Dec 2005, 17:40 lovely barn owl at the farmers market today. I once played with adopting an owl. But decided the mess would be overwhelming"! |

Tue 15 Nov 2005, 12:19 The chickens don't bother me - I was a country lad - but was taken aback by just how noisy, sheer volume, from the pair of owls who live up here by the Enstone/Slade/Nine Acres junction. And their habit of doing it at about 3.30-4.00 in the morning! They just love sitting on the chimney of the house about 70' away across the garden and just yellin' their heads off. Gone a bit quiet now, I suppose the territorial tiffs have settled down by this time of year. Janet missed a Barn Owl by millimetres coming into Charlbury from Woodstock in the autumn, would have been terrible to have hit it. They are still endangered I believe. So "Kevin" is a Barn Owl? Or are you just making it all up ;) Err, why Kevin? I'm sure I read a story to one of the kids about someone Owly called Kevin but can't remember if that was so or a memory artefact... |

Wed 20 Jul 2005, 21:57 02.00 hours, one of the loudest and certainly the biggest by some margin, tawny owl on the chimney of the house at the end of our front garden last night. And I've seen a few owls (used to work with them a bit at uni 30 year back)!
