This original thread may be quite old but the question of disposing of old computers does not go away. Ability Systems in Witney will take old laptops, clean them of data and give them to Cokethorpe School who then have a programme of students taking them third world countries and training youngsters. No cost to the donor.

I'm sure the nursery at Railway Children would like this to help the toddlers learning.

Does anyone know of a local good cause/charity who might like a free computer. We have a spare desk-top computer with Pentium processor that we would like to see go to a good home, rather than just up to the tip in Dean. Alternatively, for a small donation to the Street Fair Fund, we would be happy for a local family to make use of it.
