Fri 22 Sep 2006, 11:30 Another, good site that lets you compare ISPs is: http://www.adslguide.org/ . Although not the cheapest, we use Waitrose for our ISP, which has the added attraction that they donate all profits to charity (of your choice from a selection they have nominated). As for BT, my understanding is that they still control the 'last mile' of the network, and you have to pay a line rental regardless of your telephone company unless it's cable. It was one of the anomolies that still remain from when BT was privatised. Good luck!

Fri 22 Sep 2006, 08:46 Does anyone have any bright ideas as to a broadband ISP that will cost about £14.99 per month that also includes all your telephone calls? We're after a provider that essentially will take over from BT - so we don't have to pay the latter any money (line rental/service charges etc). I know that usually one has to get cable for this but wondered if anyone else had an suggestions? |
