Fri 4 Jul 2014, 22:18 The bang - the overhead power line in the field between our place in Hixetwood and the the Bell pub exploded and a fire ball shot down the post to the ground. Don't know what caused it but glad nobody was hurt because it was pretty scary to see. Never seen the dof shoot in the house so fast. Maybe a pigeon or something landed on the line? |

Thu 3 Jul 2014, 21:08 Yes, we lost our power here in Little Lees for a couple of minutes just after 10:00am. I didn't hear any big bang, but perhaps that is because of where we are. |

Thu 3 Jul 2014, 17:53 We heard it too. Whatever happened did cut our electricity for a few minutes - and set off some alarms, so assume electricity cut elsewhere too. Went outside to check, but couldn't see anything that caused it. So share John's curiosity here. |
