It's the military they practice round here at night been doing it for years no need to complain they have to train somewhere. There doing a good job.

We've been here before, search helicopters and see postings dated June 2014.

Support our military. Think twice before firing off a salvo of complaints.

We have had Military helicopters using this area for years a believe the pilots should never go into action with out practise. Why when some one complains about late night music on a Sunday night from a music festival every one slugs that person off saying it for the good of Charbury. Now the Helicopter saga come around every one wants to complain remember these Pilots are putting their life's at risk. I for one will not complain about that.

This is possibly little to do with London bombings but night exercises for ongoing problems elsewhere in the world.

they may be allowed to use the farmer's fields, but it appears the farmer whose animals are in the fieldon the other side of the hedge didn't know anything about it.
i didn't think anyone actually lived in the big house at ditchley at present, it is used by the ditchley foundation (?) for meetings, and i think it is also being redecorated, although that may be finished now.
the helicopters come from raf benson, they are the people you want to take the matter up with.

This is an ongoing problem. I got in touch with the low-flying complaints line at Whitehall a few months back because in Fawler, we also have RAF helicopters practising night manouveres in the small hours. They have permission to use a farmers field and by law are perfectly entitled to do this whenever they choose. They are supposed to behave in a 'neighbourly' way, but clearly aren't. This precedes the London bombings by months. I got very little joy from the military police at Whitehall when I complained. Perhaps if a few more people called then they might take it a bit more seriously.

Yes i did work at Ditchley and know that there is a lot of security. As far as i could see when peering out of my window wondering what was going on they did not appear to be police helicopters they were bigger perhaps military on an exercise but why are doing it in Charlbury?

I counted four helicopters, a few nights after the London bombings. As Ditchley Park is often used for high level security meetings I did wonder if they were related to that. I agree that the noise is extremely disturbing but if you think of who lives at Ditchley Park it wouldn't be suprising that there is a lot of security surrounding it at the moment.

We'll presumably the helicopter and the complaint belong to Thame Valley Police. I doubt you can complain about them if they are out with an infra red camera chasing joy riders, drug dealears, earching for runaways etc...
But it is annoying Harry I agree! If it's not the Police, I'll join you in complaining to whomever it is.

Has anyone else been annoyed by this atrocious noise two weeks running of 2 helicopters circling around the hundley way enstone road area at midnight, they also landed in the field at hundley way. Any one know who complaints to go to.
