I used and still use John Lanyon (tel. 811035). He taught me everything I know about (organic) gardening and completely transformed our garden from an infertile, unused and desperately dull bit of land into a lovely garden with a pond, vegetable patch, and children's "forest" at a very reasonable rate (same hourly rate for design and maintenance). My rate to him for writing this is a lot higher.
