David - how come you manage to go on such interesting walks all the time? Do some of them involve time travel? I am keen to do a bit of that myself, so please let me know if you're planning an adventure on those lines soon.

Bluebells is still going- it's run from the home of one of the owners in Ascott. in case you get more enquiries their phone number is 01993 830730. They specialise in wedding flowers. Just thought I would mention it as anything one can do to boost local business is good.

Ah yes, Bluebells the florists. We inherited their phone number about six years ago, and still get people (usually from places like Salford and Warrington for some reason) calling up from time to time wanting to know if we can deliver flowers for them. Another missed business opportunity ....

Yes, I forget where they moved to now. A farm shop would of been a good idea too. There's a fantastic one near my parents (Hollies) which sells everything from homemade cakes, butchers counter with local meats, pre-prepared meals, vegs, wine - all sorts of things that have been locally produced. That been next to Tim's Frame/Gift shop would of been good.

I was thinking that too Andrea. A butchers or florists would have been a lot more practical. Does anyone remember the florist that used to be near the Good Food Shop? That was really lovely and very practical.

Would of been nice to perhaps have a flower shop there or even a butchers. Can't see how yet another estate agents will benefit the residents of Charlbury, especially with everything on-line these days. Oh well...

Well didn't you hear about the governments relaxing the planning rules? Apparently they are allowing building on the green belt and countryside around London. Apparently Charlbury has now been designated as part of Greater London.
LOL.

Apparently it a new name for the two firms which have merged together just before Christmas.

FROM WYCHWOODS TO WYCHWOOD FLOWERS

As you will see from our new web site our evolution is nearing completion. The much respected firm of Wychwoods Estate Agents has joined forces with Simon Flowers and become Wychwood Flowers. Simon has been an Agent in Oxfordshire for over 30 years and few can match his experience but more about him in Future News. Much has been happening, not just the name change. We have upgraded our computers and software resulting in new stylish brochures incorporating professional photography and new floor plans. The new For Sale and To Let boards are ready and will be appearing in the next week.

OFFICES - NEW AND EXISTING!

Burford Office has been refurbished with just a few final bits and pieces to complete together with the new sign writing. We're even redoing the swinging sign and have exposed a 13th century fireplace (it's a fascinating piece of history, feel free to pop in and have a look). We are now open in Woodstock! The office is on the main road through, just the Chipping Norton side of the Kings Arms, yet before the fish and chip shop. The new LED displays can be seen from afar. Please call in for a chat and to have a look. We have local artists' work on display and the kettle's always on. So, with Milton under Wychwood we now have three offices, yet there is another on the way.

The writing on the windows is especially intriguing as they have offices in Burford, Woodstock and Milton under Wychwood but not in London !

OK so an estate agent called Wychwood Flowers with London written on the windows? They don't sell flowers and are not located in London... I guess this is how confused.com came about. Anyway, I think it is great to have more businesses in the town, I wish them much success!

It's a firm of estate agents - see here. Though I'm a bit bemused at the signwriting: I thought the usual practice was "London - Paris - New York" (or somesuch), rather than "London London London", which is slightly reminiscent of the dancing badgers.
