VAT isn't chargeable on 'normal' postage, even franked mail.

Only when you access next day guaranteed by 9am Special DElivery is VAT levied, because it is considered to be a couriered service - which mdoes attract VAT.

Tim sells some excellent cards from local artists. I think I'd get divorced if I bought my lovely wife a 29p birthday card from Card Factory.

£2 for a card!....at Card Factory you can get individual cards for 29p each, or 5 for a £1. Cards are generally one of the biggest rip offs anyway

Don't forget VAT is payable on franking rates not such a big difference then.

Some entrepreneur with a franking machine ought to offer franking rates to the village....44p 1st class rather than 60p. Adding a penny or two to cover costs like ink & re-crediting maybe still makes a 10p saving!

How about this for an offer buy a greetings card individually priced at £2.00 or more from Cotswold Frames in Charlbury and you can purchase a single 1st or 2nd class stamp for that card at the old postage stamp price of 46p for a 1st class stamp or 36p for a 2nd class stamp !
Limited availability so don't delay make the most of this offer while you can.
