Thank you for your help. In the end we decided to use the train and experienced a wonderful atmosphere in London. Helpful underground staff on hand to direct people, visitors from all corners of the earth just having a wonderful time. Well done Boris for exceptional organisation. Sadly we could not get to the Mall as numbers had been wisely restricted but the huge screens in Green Park served as a good substitute. a day that I shall long remember. Sadly the journey home was a disaster due to trouble with the Cotswold Line and cut short at Oxford from where we were taxied home an hour or two late.

The Oxford Express will take a route via Earls Court/Chelsea Embankment instead of Baker Street. I am considering alighting at Hillingdon Station and travelling on the Met line. Does anyone know how long the journey takes from Hillingdon to Baker Street please???
