On second glance the symmetry of the distortion would indicate sleeper shift rather than asymmetric rail distortion which would happen with heating.... |

Wed 27 Apr 2011, 09:19 Actually, the long rail sections haven't been welded together and stressed yet, but a more basic point is that the top layer of stone ballast, to hold the sleepers in place, has yet to be laid. |
