Tue 11 Feb, 20:00 Thank you to everyone who has submitted A4 photos of wildlife in their garden for the gallery at the 'Gardening for Nature Recovery' event to be held on 27 February. It is organised by the Charlbury Wildlife Society and the Charlbury Garden Society. If you'd still like to send photos send them to charlburywildlifesociety@gmail.com by 14 February with details as to where, what, when etc. Everyone is welcome to join us on 27 February 7.30-9.00pm, in the Memorial Hall, it is free, and we will be sharing tips as to how we can attract more wildlife into our gardens. Thu 30 Jan, 10:30 I was not being frivolous with my "do cats count" more of a 'pebble in the pond'. I refer to your second para' ".........we will be sharing tips as to how we can attract more wildlife in our gardens". Wychwood House has about a hectare of garden. It is my observation that wandering cats have considerable influence on the birdlife of the garden. PS as I write a muntjac is wandering across the lawn; a few weeks ago I came face to face with a fox on the drive; badgers are known to visit especially during the cranefly season; regrettably not seen hedgehogs recently; large grass snake last summer. I don't take photos. |
