The fact there are only 2 trains per day (Mon - Fri only) is partly the reason so few passengers use the station. If there was a more reasonable service perhaps patronage would increase?
The BBC report was flawed, as they mentioned Dean station in Hampshire, stating there were just 4 passengers per day there - but according to statistics from the rail regulator - over 16,000 passengers use the station annually!

Finstock Railway Station has appeared on the local BBC News today as one of the least used station in the south. The reporter, who was standing on the platform, said that on average there were only 2 passengers per day that used the station - And that there was only one scheduled stop at the station in each direction each day!
