Fri 10 Jan, 16:07 Wow this is a great story - of course good samaritans still exist - I believe that most folk are still goodly souls. Glad you had this outcome and well done for knocking on a door. |

Wed 8 Jan, 10:42 (last edited on Wed 8 Jan, 10:43) Thankfully trust between strangers still exists . Last Saturday I misjudged the evening snowfall and left my work base at Witney Hospital late at 10.15 pm. The snow was shallow but my car was sliding sideways whenever I applied the brakes. I crept to the end of Hailey and didn’t dare continue. At 10.40 pm I knocked on the door of a cottage and the asked for help. No taxi would agree to come out due to the road conditions and the kind householder gave me tea and a bed for the night. I quietly left at 7.30am and made my way to my next nursing duty in Banbury passing 5 abandoned cars on my way, one in a ditch. I am exceedingly grateful to her and her family. |
