Tue 3 Dec, 14:42 In addition to the good things mentioned below, on Friday 6th there will be a selection of local-interest books for sale in the lobby of the Corner House, including some scarce out-of-print material; and on Friday 13th there will be a selection of Christmas books etc for adults & children. The local craftspeople's & traders' event on the 13th in the Morris Room is attracting a lot of interest - there's a wealth of talent & initiative locally, of which this only scratches the surface. Come and see for yourself, and perhaps find something a bit different for Christmas. |

Wed 27 Nov, 19:54 (last edited on Thu 28 Nov, 07:59) The Corner House will be open from 5.00 - 8.00 pm on both of Charlbury's Late-Evening Shopping Nights (Friday 6 & 13 December). On Friday 6th there will simply be a self-service evening of cheap books for sale at the Community Bookshop: cash only, or take the books you want and come back on another day between 10 am - 1 pm to pay by card. There will also be some free printed ephemera (everything from Victorian lithographs to Punk concert programmes) in the Morris Room: help yourself! And don't forget the books by local authors for sale over the road in the downstairs room of the Rose & Crown that evening. On Friday 13th the whole building including Cornerstone will be open from 5 - 8 pm, and free mulled wine available. As well as the usual cheap books and free edible produce throughout the building, the Morris Room will be hosting a selection of local craftspeople & traders: come and see what they have to offer, and perhaps buy or order a Christmas present or two. |
