Now all clear and open but don't get too excited and please keep to the speed limit!

Tony, I trust that you did a full risk assessment, wrote a method statement, activated a hazard management plan, wore full personal protective equipment, read and understood the Oxfordshire County Council's leaflet on "Safe Storage of Signs", and sat in a van and ate a sandwich for half an hour before you moved them.

The work is finished but the road closed signs are still up because that's a different crew gov! We laid them at the side this morning but someone has replaced them causing more unnecessary inconvenience

The road has in fact been passable single file all the time after I spoke to them apart from 3 hours when the tarmac was being laid, but the closed signs have been up all the time

Councils complain about lack of funding but maybe they should address management incompetence or is that too difficult

As I have said before I have long been puzzled/confused by the intentions of the" putters up (and takers down) of yellow signs"

Crazy at The Slade/Enstone Rd Crossroad. A really dangerous sign sticking out into The Slade, saying No Through Rd. And the diversion sign points up Banbury Hill which would -- after a very long detour -- take one back to the other end of the Woodstock Rd.

Also another sign on The Slade near Ticknell Piece, saying No Through Rd when, of course, there is a through rd to Witney, even if the Woodstock Rd were actually closed.

No traffic lights at the crossroads, but the junction to The Slade is single lane only. Was very surprised to see the sign still in place around 2 p.m. Not sure if has yet been shifted. If not, it should be!

That’s good to know if it’s passable but it was very hard to tell what was going on in the pitch back this morning plus there were people operating some form of machinery with the flashing orange lights.

You can get through without difficulty. It is 3 different very short bits of one way, but easy to navigate. That was just after 9am.

Is the road fully closed, or is a single lane open this Wednesday morning?

It was closed still/again when I left for work this morning at 6.20am with some work still taking place most frustrating.

Also, where the road closed sign is at the cross roads is quite dangerous without any traffic lights.

Yes, the signs were still up on Tuesday evening, all the way from the A44 turning. It would be good if the local council could be a bit more professional in ensuring the contractors who put them up bother taking them down again when they no longer apply. It's sloppy and inefficient, extremely unfair to local people - and dangerous for potentially impeding or delaying emergency vehicles. And it's quite a frequent occurrence.

The contractors have left the road closed sign up despite a single lane being clear

Don’t know whether WODC or OCC are responsible but would be good if it could be removed

Please be aware that Woodstock Road is closed as Thames Water fixing a large water leak.
