Fri 29 Nov, 21:49 (last edited on Fri 29 Nov, 21:50) Sorry to hear that Stephen. Thankfully I'd only drawn out a tenner to pay for fish and chips but it wasn't to be! Fortunately it didn't get far enough to debit my account. |

Wed 27 Nov, 20:51 My card was eaten by the machine. But what was worse was that when I looked at my bank statement the hundred pounds that I’d wanted to take out but couldn’t had actually been debited on my account. So not only did I have to ring the bank for a new card I also had to ring them again to tell them the wretched ATM has stolen £100 from me. Just another example of how technology often makes life more miserable than helpful. |

Tue 26 Nov, 13:22 Spare a thought for the poor ATM machine 😆. I believe some machines are designed to hold a card if it believes it may be at risk of attack of some kind (as a protection for the customer), which could be the case with whatever fault had been triggered. |

Tue 26 Nov, 13:14 Also, it wasn't the bank that was the problem for Alex, but a card-eating machine and the stress that causes which, I imagine, is pretty unrelated to age or sensitivity. Thank you for the warning, Alex. |

Tue 26 Nov, 12:52 That's a very sarcastic comment, Michael Flanagan! Actually, it is 'oversensitive' people who have trouble with the internet and much prefer to deal with a human being. |

Tue 26 Nov, 07:56 (last edited on Tue 26 Nov, 08:16) This is a warning to all. The ATM in the Charlbury Co-op (which is not owned by the Co-op) swallowed my card and wouldn’t give it back when I tried to draw out £10 on Sunday afternoon. I phoned the company that own it and they eventually admitted it was a fault with their machine (it went offline after swallowing my card which suggests there may be an internet connection problem). No apology!
