Wed 20 Nov, 21:04 Today I did a sick Communion visit to a lady at home in Charlbury and she pointed out to me the crows’ nests in the big trees in Cornbury. They are much lower she said than usual, like they were in the harsh winter of 2010…they know something about what is coming our way… |

Tue 19 Nov, 15:57 Prior to today, there have only been 3 occasions since 1990 with snow lying in Charlbury before 20th November. These were 19th in 1996, 9th in 2001 and 14th in 2019. In each case, however, the depths were minimal and little more than a covering, and certainly a good deal less than the 2cm I measured at 8am.The only other November to have this amount of snow was on the 30th in 2010. That November was followed by the exceptionally cold December, with 18 days of lying snow and included 5cm on the 3rd, but more notably 30cm falling on the 18th. |

Tue 19 Nov, 10:27 Think it was 2010 - we had a big snowfall in November, seem to recall 10 inches or more |
