Mon 4 Nov, 21:57 (last edited on Mon 4 Nov, 21:58) Ability Systems are great. I took my laptop apart (for reasons best known to me, but ok, to put more DRAM in). I couldn't get it back together! Took it to AS who sorted it all in under 30 mins and charged me pennies. Why go anywhere else? |

Mon 4 Nov, 19:30 Yeah, Apple and Microsoft have issues communicating. Pleased to hear it's all sorted! |

Mon 4 Nov, 18:49 Thank you all for your suggestions. I rang Ability Systems to see if we could bring the phone in to them. But the very helpful man who answered the phone said that there are some issues when using Microsoft addresses on an iPhone. He suggested that I install the Outlook app on the phone and use that for mail. I did that and it is now working fine. A big thank you to Ability Systems! |

Sun 3 Nov, 20:41 I don't use iPhone, but it sounds like a problem with your SMTP settings. Before doing anything as drastic as resetting the phone to factory settings, try checking, and if necessary changing, the SMTP settings and the password on the outgoing mail. Emily's link is to changing the incoming settings; you need to change the outgoing settings instead. There's a whole page on this here, with a lot of fairly recent entries: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/255073547?answerId=259768946022&sortBy=rank&page=1#259768946022 There's always Ability Systems in Witney! |

Sun 3 Nov, 19:33 Hi William, you’ve probably tried all of these steps but Apple have this: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/102578 If that doesn’t work, you could try backing up the phone and resetting the phone to factory settings. |

Sun 3 Nov, 18:29 (last edited on Sun 3 Nov, 18:33) Most ISPs or professional (domain name) email companies have articles showing you how to set up your mail on your iPhone. Is the operating system up to date?. iOS 18.1 came out this week. Have you tried deleting and reinstalling the Mail app and then re-doing the settings? It has worked for me in the past. Also restarting the phone can sometimes help. |

Sun 3 Nov, 12:44 One month ago we found that we could no longer send emails from an account on one of our phones, an iPhone 14. The phone receives emails to that account but when we try to send them we get the message: Cannot Send Mail The sender address was invalid. We can send messages from that account on other devices. We have deleted the account and reinstalled it but still no joy. Any experts out there who could help? |
