Sun 10 Nov, 17:31 Hello Helen. I hope you are recovering well and if you are still in need of some help please give me a call on 07941 561471. I live in Stonesfield, happy to lend a hand for a few weeks. I usually do gardening, spring cleans, decluttering, decorating but I have availability now as the gardening season slows down. Best wishes, Lindsey |

Fri 1 Nov, 16:08 Christine is quite right, the hospital would be able to organise whatever help you need via the access team. You should be able to get 6 weeks help at home. No charge. |

Fri 1 Nov, 11:08 (last edited on Fri 1 Nov, 11:09) Helen, if you haven't already done so, it's worth checking with OCC to see if you qualify for reablement care. The website is here: https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/residents/social-and-health-care/adult-social-care/adult-social-care-services/living-home/home-first-oxfordshire/reablement It's not means tested, and even if you don't qualify you could contact the listed provider for help. When I used it last year, the provider was Angel Care in Witney, and they were fine in terms of what I required. Their website is here: https://www.angelcare-group.co.uk/ They were also able to provide cleaners if that is what was needed, but it was not what I required. I was recovering from a broken hip. I am not sure how well they are operating now, given that the immigration rules changed in March 2024, & carers are no longer able to bring family members with them (nearly all of my care team came from Zimbabwe, with some also from S. Africa or India). Nearly all the carers lived in Witney, with a few in Carterton or Abingdon. OCC now uses Agincare for reablement care in West Oxfordshire: https://www.agincare.com/ Other care providers are available as well, of course. |

Thu 31 Oct, 10:40 I am currently recovering after a nasty head injury on holiday & not able to do much. I need someone to help me manage on my own - some cleaning & changing my sheets. Is there anyone who has a cleaner who could help, probably for at least 6 weeks. It is so very hard to do things without bending down. Thank you. |
