Thu 10 Oct, 11:27 Just thought it was worth mentioning that the BBC weather forecast overnight was for "hurricane" winds throughout the night and this morning. Well: forecasting and an English autumn don't get on together - but at 6 this morning it was belting down, the ground was awash with fallen branches and even my dog wouldn't go out. Yet the longest delay in our line's arrival into Paddington this morning has been 90 seconds. So I'd like to say something that's heretical here. Well done GWR. And even more heretically: Well done Network Rail. Maybe there is a small case for State ownership of the rail infrastructure after all. It's still a potty idea for ownership of the operating companies, though. Is it just possible some people are confused? |
