Quince!

Mine too - I usually have loads but this year hardly any. I thought the tree was blighted because of the black spots, so was planning a good structural prune in the winter; I might get a smaller crop next year but hopefully healthier.

My tree suffered badly from the wet spring (leaf blight, black-spotted fruit) after decades of abundant fruitfulness. Chloe suggests that others nearby have had the same problem; it would be interesting to know how many have been affected in this way.

I'm on the hunt for some quince, a couple of my regular trees have had a bad year.  If anyone has some extra I'll happily barter or pay for them.  Just drop me a line here.
