Fri 4 Oct, 18:15 (last edited on Fri 4 Oct, 18:15) Hello Charlburians, I am asking you to help my close-as-family friend, Whit Baldwin, help Hurricane Helene victims in western North
Carolina. Specifically, his company HeloAir, the helicopter company my father was
involved in founding in 1993. My dad was a surgeon, so part of the
company's mission has always been to volunteer organ transplant
transportation and disaster aid. Usually the company bears the burden of
these costs, but it looks like they'll need to be there for much
longer than usual, and the fuel costs are punishing. I've lived in Charlbury for 3 years, so I'm not a stranger, though I rarely post. I volunteer for John Partington in the book shop. I shop in the Deli. I used to live in western North Carolina and have many friends there who are all OK and already getting to work to help their communities, but there are still many who are completely isolated. If you feel you can donate anything at all to help Whit, or know anyone who might be interested in helping us save lives and deliver essential supplies, please visit the GoFundMe page we have set up. Support Lifesaving Helicopter Relief Efforts https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-lifesaving-helicopter-relief-efforts Many thanks, Kay PS If you know anyone there and haven't heard from them, Whit may be able to send a helicopter to check on them or airlift them out, so please do get in touch with me via this website and I will put you in touch with Whit. |
