Mon 23 Sep, 15:19 (last edited on Mon 23 Sep, 15:21) It's fine again now - I've cleared various obstructions from the path to let the water drain away, made sure the three drainage pipes are running, and confirmed that the section of the stream in our garden's running freely. I know neighbours have been doing the same. I've also unblocked a few patches of vegetation and litter lower downstream to help minimise further blockages. The path's still muddy, as you'd expect in this weather, but at least it isn't flooded now. Be careful the stones around the stile aren't slippy. |

Mon 23 Sep, 13:13 Willow Way is the path that runs between the foot of The Slade and the foot of Dancers Hill. The stream that runs through the gardens behind the tall wooden fences must have burst its banks, since the water is gushing out from below the fences into the path. As you walk down the path from The Slade, the last ten yards or so before the ford is about four or five inches deep in water. There is a gulley at the ford that connects the upper path to the lower, and it has become clogged with leaves and branches. I cleared away as much as I could, but I can't see the water level going down till the rain stops. You might want to avoid Willow Way if you're walking your dog, or whatever. |
