Fri 20 Sep, 09:51 There are signs on the bus stops on Church Street and the Playing Close saying the stops will not be in use for four days from Wednesday until Saturday, as the buses will be on diversion. At 9.10 this morning the X9 came down Browns Lane and Church Street. This is so unfair on passengers who just don't know where to wait for a bus. |

Thu 19 Sep, 23:15 After waiting for half an hour in vain this morning for the 9.04 to Chippy I returned home to phone Pulhams and was told all the X9 buses were running about an hour late due to Chippy Mop Fair and road closures in Charlbury. Presumably disruption will continue tomorrow and Saturday so I would strongly advise following Richard’s advice about tracking the bus on its route. |

Thu 19 Sep, 18:38 Church Street is also closed for traffic between 18:00 and 21:00 tomorrow (Friday) and 08:00 to 23:00 on Saturday (21st) for the Annual Street Fair. That means there won't be any buses through the centre of town during those times either. I have sent reminders to the relevant bus companies, but whether they read them I don't know. The ought, however, to be monitoring all authorised road closures which are made some time in advance. |

Thu 19 Sep, 13:51 When I used the Stagecoach bus yesterday the driver didn't know how long the diversion would be going on for (he thought it was just yesterday), so I'm not surprised by the X9. |

Thu 19 Sep, 13:35 The first X9 this morning seems to have been taken by surprise by the Church Street closure, and ended up diverting down Market Street! Chippy Mop is complicating things too – the bus can’t do its usual loop via Albion Street. |

Thu 19 Sep, 12:08 Thanks Richard. This was also the case yesterday for buses. However, as usual, the lack of comms and signage from OCC left those of us travelling by bus confused as to where to stand. It also led to a coach coming down Browns Lane thinking it could go down Church Street. Surely having diversion signs in place, temporary bus stops and a notice up a couple of weeks beforehand on every bus stop in Charlbury shouldn't be that difficult. |

Thu 19 Sep, 09:29 Because Church Street is closed, the buses are not coming into the centre of town. The S3 is turning round at Nine Acres Close, the X9 is just running round the edge. The real-time tracking doesn’t seem to have worked this out so don’t rely on the times on the website front page – they are just showing the times that the bus would be at the Bell! If you click on the relevant time it will bring up a map of where the bus actually is. Separately the X9 seems to be running late so worth checking anyway if you’re going to Witney or Chippy. |
