Good--thank you Matthew. I have just looked up creosote and see that it has dangers. I remember my father treating our garden fence with it though in the days when people didn't realise.

Rest assured the community centre’s building committee are aware that there are a few areas that need attention. We are currently looking at getting our leaky gutters fixed, when this happens we’ll have access to the timber cladding so we can inspect it properly and treat it if necessary, but not with creosote!

Has anyone recently studied the large timber planks on the outside of the Community Centre ? I think they are untrimmed so as to look natural and rustic. Understandable, but to me they look dry and slightly warped and in need of some love and care. Not being an expert I'm not sure what but some oil or creosote perhaps ??
