Thu 5 Sep, 18:03 All well and good if dogs wore collars 24 hours a day. I take my dogs off when he's at home and I believe with this dog, it somehow escaped from home, hence no collar. Try as we might none of us are immune to having accidents happen. |

Thu 5 Sep, 15:49 Microchips are now legally required - oui? So shouldn't collars and Dog Tags with contact details also be required - or are they? Don't write names on them though... What sort of Bye-Law powers do Local Authorities (at what level) have? Could "we" require by Bye-Law identification tags for Dogs (what about ear-tags?? so they can't be removed?) as we seem to have had a spate of lost dogs recently. When younger our mutts were explorers and were found by collar tag and we were phoned up or had one delivered by a couple of nice young builders who'd delivered her back to our house. Once she was found at night though lit up by two flashing harness lights running on the Woodstock Road heading at speed eastwards after chasing some deer. Don't let them off the leash at dusk... And maybe we should setup a Town Lost Dog Phone Tree for when dogs go missing so we can send out search parties, especially at night |

Wed 4 Sep, 20:46 Husky type hound, light in colour, found just now in the Banbury Hill/Enstone Road area of town. Poor little doggy is safe but obviously there's nowhere open now to check for a microchip. Call us on 07720385538 for more details. |
