The Deli & Cafe Shareholder Meeting

Trust me, this is most definitely not just an attempt to knock Chloe off the top of this thread!! How could it be after such a generous offer??

Tongue firmly in cheek there….  I had thought about refreshment at the meeting but because of its importance to the staff we have invited all of them to attend it and the last thing they will want to think about is making cups of tea! 

I just need to clarify the position of proxies however as our Articles of Association are somewhat vague on this.  To ensure we comply with current law, proxies will be allowed to speak on behalf of the shareholder naming them and in accordance with the shareholder’s instructions.   Written confirmation of their appointment in one form or another will still be required (either on paper or by email).

There should be a few more copies of the reports to the meeting available to shareholders at the Deli so you are welcome now to take one away if you need to.

As previously announced, there will be a Shareholders' Meeting on Thurs 05/09 at 6.30 in the Friends' Meeting House, Market Street.

I'm just confirming on here as we don't have email addresses for all our shareholders - and because although the meeting is for shareholders only, I anticipate that decisions will be taken that may be of interest to our non-shareholder customers - which we'll let you know about later!

Just for the record, voting by proxy is allowed for under the company's Articles (with written confirmation from the shareholder please) but only shareholders may participate in discussion.  It's an important meeting so I hope as many shareholders will attend as possible.

I will leave a few copies of the Reports and Accounts at the Deli tomorrow morning for shareholders (only please) to peruse but as they run to 24 pages you will understand my request that they either are not removed or at least are returned within a few hours.  So if you haven't received yours by email, why not pop down and spend a happy hour poring over the paperwork while enjoying a coffee, cake, sandwich....??
