Mon 2 Sep, 10:54 We took the bus to Chadlington and walked back (via a bit of blackberrying). A really good initiative – let's make sure it's well supported. |

Sun 1 Sep, 14:26 Agree. The £2.00 fare is due to end on 31 December this year. A fayre is an archaic word for a fair. It conjures up visions of vintage buses with men and women of a certain age, Morris Dancers and the like. "Fayre - an old-fashioned spelling of fair, used to talk about a traditional public event where goods are bought and sold and where there is entertainment." (Cambridge Dictionary). |

Sun 1 Sep, 13:38 Yes, fantastic news. And thanks to those who arranged the Sunday buses. The full timetable is here: https://www.oxfordbus.co.uk/services/PULH/X9 The only thing I would note is that the first bus on a Sunday doesn't get into Witney until 10.00 (at the Market Square) which is perhaps a bit too late for those wanting to apply for jobs in the retail sector in Witney. And I know some people don't apply for Witney jobs because the lack of public transport on a Sunday. Times into Chipping Norton are better: 9.01 is the first bus into West Street. The last time back from Witney is also rather early (16.15) whereas from Chipping Norton it is 17.15. Perhaps Pulham's could be persuaded to slightly revise their timetable next time around. |

Sun 1 Sep, 12:07 You can see the bus times top right corner on the Charlbury web site www.charlbury.info. A really useful feature, thank you. If you haven't used this bus service yet - give it a try. The bus to Chipping Norton goes through Chadlington, and the bus to Witney goes through Finstock and near Ramsden and Charlbury garden centre. Fantastic service - keep using the buses and then we will keep having this bus service. Also better for the environment. The government's £2 a fayre is still ongoing - catch it while you can. |
