You need to find a decent area of heathland - tricky round here! From memory there are some on the Malvern hills, and may well be some Newbury way. Any areas of heathland round here are unlikely to be large enough for foraging to be sustainable unfortunately.

I’ve never seen bilberries off relatively high ground, Welsh, Yorkshire, Northumbrian hills and moors. I also think they need acidic soil, which we don’t have. Certainly not seen around here when I’ve been foraging.

Anyone know if you can forage Bilberries nearby? My daughter is interested in foraging some!

Thanks! Hattie
