Another beautiful hedgehog run over and killed, this time on Pooles Lane. Please drive carefully.  Thank you to everyone who is supporting them, opening up wildlife friendly gardens and helping them move about. Do contact charlburywildlifesociety@gmail.com if you see a hedgehog,  dead or alive.

Thank you.

Thanks for the alert, looks like two beautiful  hedgehogs killed there by traffic on the Woodstock Road. I have put some signs up this morning as I watched the cars, mega-buses and lorries speed by.

Please do let us know here and/or email charlburywildlifesociety@gmail.com if any hh activity close to you and especially near main roads so we can sign for the next few months as they move around, before 'hibernation'.

Thank you.

So sad. Can a Hedgehog crossing sign be put up on the road as that might help alert drivers and encourage them to slow down?

I noticed that and the one I looked at was quite young. Little ones and teens are definitely out and about at the moment and getting themselves into all kinds of scraps. Babies make a high pitch churp when in distress and missing mum. If found they need immediate care at a rescue as are very delicate. I have 4 here at the moment I am caring for. Message me or Hedgefund here  with any concerns.

Two hedgehogs in as many days seen dead on the Woodstock Road. One opposite Wilkins Court and one about 100 yards after the 30 mph sign out of town.
Observing the traffic I estimate only one in ten motorists are obeying the speed limits. Please could Charlbury folk be more mindful of the speed limits to give the hedgehogs a better chance of survival?
