Wed 31 Jul, 23:34 I recently had a stuck PC Blu-ray DVD drive and managed to prise the door open (there is usually a hidden hold somewhere on the front of the door area which if you poke something down it has a door release catch) and when I pulled it out I then sprayed a bit of WD40 Electrical Contact Cleaner (which is not to be confused with the oil-based original one size fits many original WD40 - it has green on the label as opposed to blue) in the drive mechanism area (usually to the right) and it worked a dream. All at my own risk. |

Wed 31 Jul, 23:24 (last edited on Wed 31 Jul, 23:26) Have you tried looking at YouTube. I replaced a cd lens mechanism during lockdown using YouTube and it is still working to this day. For that I had to do a bit of soldering which I hate doing but it was worth it in the end. There are a number of videos about how to fix door mechanisms if you do a bit of searching. All you need is a bit of know how. I fix at my own risk, but wouldn't want to fix others in case I break it! |

Wed 31 Jul, 22:58 I too used Charlbury Green Hub, and one time for a stuck CD drive, and they were brilliant! |
