Thanks all for the advice. And thanks Mary, it was ATIC I was thinking of but couldn't remember what it was called. Cheers, tony

One other quick point. I notice that the Stagecoach H2 bus runs hourly (roughly) from Witney to the JR (passing through Eynsham and Summertown), which might suit some people better.

For those using the train to get to the JR, as I did twice this week, note that the 14 bus is not picking up inside the station, but from Frideswide Square, just outside the station. See the noticeboard just inside the main entrance to the railway station for the bus stop number. The change is because of overhanging branches at the usual stop, so may change soon.

And gesticulate wildly – the second time I went to the JR there were six of us waiting at the bus stop in the square, and the driver was going to sail past us till I caught his attention. When we boarded, he said he didn’t know he was supposed to stop there!

Tony contact ATIC (All together in Charlbury). Telephone 01993 776277. They have a wonderful service staffed by volunteer drivers who can and do drive people to hospital appointments as well as to other things. Sometimes fully booked but definitely worth a call.

Tony, there are a number of different ways to do it. The 700 bus goes there and can be picked up either at Oxford Parkway P&R (bus S3 to Woodstock, then from the same bus stop S7 to Oxford Parkway) or alternatively picked up in Summertown. To do so, get the S3 to Summertown South Parade West then walk along South Parade (flat walk c. 10 minutes) and pick up the 700 on the other side of the main road.

If coming back in the evening, watch out as S7 buses no longer go quite as far as Witney, and changing buses in Summertown is definitely better.

The (fairly useless) Stagecoach route planner is here: https://www.stagecoachbus.com/plan-a-journey The Oxford Bus planner is rather better: it also gives the option of getting the X9 to Witney, then the  S1 and bus no 14. https://www.oxfordbus.co.uk/plan-your-journey

Bus 14 also goes to the JR from Oxford City Centre or from the main Oxford Rail Station. Timetable here: https://tiscon-maps-stagecoachbus.s3.amazonaws.com/Timetables/Oxford_Timetables/14_current.pdf

Hello, does anyone know of a service which can take my wife from Charlbury to the JR? I seem to remember there was one but I can't find any info. Thanks
