Stumbled upon this website when looking up details of an extension proposal for a Charlbury home, similar to what we'd like to do to ours.

Although the eager Beavers of the Charlbury community scour the local Applications, it might be worth an occasional scan for things "nearby" the Town in keeping an eye out for develops which could affect the wider area:

"About Planning Alerts

"You'd probably know if your next door neighbour was going to knock their house down (you'd get a letter through the door telling you they had applied for planning permission and asking you what you thought about it). But you'd probably never find out if the old cinema, village hall or pub a few streets away is going to be converted into luxury flats, until the bulldozers turned up. You may also not know about the beautiful woodlands near you being targeted for a new housing development, until you hear the sound of chainsaws on your next walk.

Planning Alerts offers a service which searches your Local Planning Authority website and emails you details of any new applications near you. The aim of this to enable shared scrutiny of what is being built (and knocked down) in peoples' communities."
