Thu 25 Apr, 13:08 You can see the public footpaths there on OCC's interactive map: https://publicrightsofway.oxfordshire.gov.uk/StandardMap.aspx Footpath 156/15/20 runs through the reserve and continues up the side of the Centenary Wood fence. Footpath 156/23/10 runs along the top of the field and then back down to join the other one just beyond the paddock where the horses and chooks live. There's no other link between them that is a public right of way. |

Thu 25 Apr, 12:57 I haven't seen the signs myself, though the paths shown on the map you link to aren't all public rights of way. This link shows the Explorer OS map with the right of way marked https://www.bing.com/maps?cp=51.872919%7E-1.469427&lvl=15.9&style=s I'm no expert though I would imagine that the signs are to discontinue the paths use so as to avoid the argument that they have become rights of way, in the same way that such paths are occasionally ploughed over in the fields. |

Thu 25 Apr, 12:34 A sign has gone up in Blenheim farm nature reserve saying that the path between reserve and going up the hill into the fields beyond owned by Ditchley is not a path. I'm a bit confused by this as it's marked as a path on both OS maps and my walking map. I only moved to Charlbury two years ago so I don't know the background. Does anyone know whats going on? I'll be really sad if we can't take this route as it makes a lovely circular walk from Ticknell Piece Road. https://explore.osmaps.com/pin?lat=51.87212&lon=-1.469872&zoom=15.8181&style=Standard&type=2d ; |
