Thanks to Pete, Charlbury’s taxi gem

May I make a suggestion?

It would seem that at least some of the confusion has been caused by Pete Scarrott's taxi business not being on the Business page of charlbury.info.

If anyone talks to Pete, perhaps they could ask if he would like someone to add an entry for him in the relevant section? If he agrees, I would suggest that his name is added as well, so as to avoid any confusion with those who - for whatever reason - are using similar names for their businesses?

My sincere apologies for my mistake and any distress  this has caused to Pete Scarrott. 

His full name, company name Pete's Taxis  and correct phone number is now in my iphone 07854 179 673 and on our pin board.  

Pete Scarrott has been our no 1 taxi person of choice since moving to Charlbury over 14 years ago. Why?

Always positive, says yes to fares to/from Charlbury station into Charlbury town and local places like Banbury Hill Farm into the centre of Charlbury to give visitors a great experience of our town, hospital appointments for patients giving peace of mind to get to and return from their appointments so they don’t have to worry more than they are.

The majority of local taxi companies will not do this.

Exceptional service, attitude and kindness to both Charlbury locals and visitors. 

Thank you to Pete Scarrott for being who he is and doing what he does so well.

As confirmed by the "real" Pete (Scarrott) the correct number for him is 07854 179 673.

As Christine Battersby pointed out the confusion arose because the lovely Rachel Brushfield  (aka "she who must be obeyed") put the wrong number in one of her posts!

I am finding this really confusing. 

On the business pages of this website there are 2 taxi firms: Jim's taxis (no telephone number on the linked page) also Charlbury taxis (Pete Sullivan 07855 806102), a firm that used not to be willing to take on very local journeys. It seems from Rachel's recent post that they have now changed their booking policies, but has it also changed its name? Or is Pete's Taxis simply the name given to this firm by Rachel and Hannen? 

The original Pete's Taxis (Pete Scarrott) doesn't have an entry, but is the Pete's Taxis in my address book (07854 179673). He was always willing to take on local journeys. I wasn't sure whether this firm still exists. It seems from Nicolette's post that it does. Perhaps somebody could persuade the original Pete to put details on the Charlbury web page.

I see Rachel (and presumably also Hannen, her husband) use Charlbury Taxis, but call it Pete's Taxis. Rolf accuses Charlbury Taxis of unprofessional conduct in changing its name. But as far as I can see it's just Rachel and Hannen's informal name for Charlbury Taxis. 

The information on Chadlington website is much clearer: https://chadlington.com/local-info/getting-around/taxis They have details for Charlbury Taxis, Pete's Taxis, also Blenheim Taxis and Evenlode Taxis.

I love this both Pete's are great blokes and drive a taxi.

I think the so called new imposter Pete maybe have been in business longer than the more established Pete, I might be wrong but imposter Pete might of taken over from his dad also called Pete who used to take me to school 45 years ago.

Pete's Taxi.  Charlbury.  The Pete's Taxi I've used for years is the guy who started 20 years ago - phone number 07854 179673. Great guy.  Helpful, nice and a great sense of humor.  But I now see that Charlbury Taxis 07855 806102 (Pete Sullivan?) are now calling themselves Pete's Taxis.  So I'm going to emphatically disagree with Rachel Brushfield and say 'her' Pete seems to me to be something of an underhanded ... well, thief.   Taking the name of a competitor's business?  Where I come from, that could put you in court and possibly jail.  But either way, shame on you Charlbury Taxi.  Shame.

He will call you back if he is driving so leave a voice message/text him.

Well said , Rachel. If it wasn't for Pete and the lovely volunteers at Atic I would not be able to cope. They are not only very kind but are cheerful and cheerful people are in short supply these days. Let's gets recognition of them and the other yet unnamed on the usually dismal forum
