Bus changes from and to Oxford from March 7th

A major change has been made to the S7 bus route, starting March 10th. The changes mean that there is no longer a bus into Woodstock from Oxford Parkway station or from Kidlington after 19.30. The last bus making the connection leaves Summertown at 19.22.

Similar restrictions are imposed in the reverse direction. The blurb about that and other changes to the s7 route is here: https://www.stagecoachbus.com/service-updates/serviceupdatesarticle?SituationId=ID-07/02/2024-11:41:59:554. ;

There's also a link there to the new pdf for the S7 bus here: https://tiscon-maps-stagecoachbus.s3.amazonaws.com/Timetables/Oxford_Timetables/S7_current.pdf

This is likely to affect commuters and others travelling back to Charlbury from London Marylebone, also to and from Kidlington, Oxford Airport and Oxford Motor Parks. Those travelling to and from the Oxford Hospitals in the evenings will now also need to walk further in Summertown to link the S7 and S3 routes.

We lost our direct links with Oxford Parkway last year when the no 7 and N7 buses were cancelled, and the S7 was instead routed to and from Witney via Woodstock. But at least it was still possible to get to and from Oxford Parkway by changing buses in Woodstock. That possibility has now been removed for those travelling in the evenings.

The changes will really affect those travelling to Charlbury and Chipping Norton and places like Stonesfield -- also those travelling to evening events at Blenheim from London.

The last bus from Oxford to Charlbury leaves Oxford Railway Station at 22.03, and the previous bus leaves at 20.03. Chipping Norton gets some later buses, but we do not.

I do hope that the Town Council will strongly object to Stagecoach and to OCC who have approved these recent changes.
