Charlbury Station Job Opportunity - Why "Temporary"?

Interesting point, Charlie. Also why only a Customer Sales Assistant? Who will s/he be assisting? Elsewhere GWR is advertising for Customer Sales Advisors. But both seem to be downgrades on the (more highly paid) Station Manager job which is surely what Charlbury needs.

I note from the Charlbury Station job description at

that the job is a "temporary position for 12 months". Why? Do the rail companies plan to try to close all the ticket offices again in a year or so?!
