Tue 8 Aug 2023, 18:51 The other thing to notice is that not all the early morning S3 buses that come into Charlbury run along Sturt Rd/The Slade, although all do down to The Bell. There's more choice if one walks from The Slade either to 5 Ways or to the Enstone Road bus shelter. Also in the evenings not all buses go down to The Bell. Tue 8 Aug 2023, 15:04 NB not everyone is aware but the S3 does run from Charlbury to Chipping Norton and back in the evenings, so it is worth checking out the times if you are going out to Chippy in the evening and would like to leave your car at home. |

Tue 8 Aug 2023, 15:01 As flagged by Richard Fairhurst previously in a news post, Stagecoach issued a new timetable for the S3 service on 23 July, which can be found here. Bus times have been shifted a bit: Weekday buses now leave the Bell for Oxford at 05.33, 06.53, 08.13, then at 13 minutes past the hour until 15.23, 16.23, 17.28, 18.18, 20.33, 22.33. On Saturdays, buses leave the Bell every hour from 07.13 to 18.13, then 20.33 and 22.33. There are still no buses on Sundays. Return services from Oxford generally leave the railway station at 03 minutes past the hour, and Magdalen Street at 10 minutes past. One of the implications of the new bus times in the mornings is that they no longer work for children in Charlbury and Fawler to get to Marlborough School in Woodstock. However, having been alerted to this, I am pleased to say that Stagecoach are planning to adjust the times again from 4 September, including shifting the 06.53 departure from the Bell back to 07.13 (or thereabouts), arriving into Woodstock at 07:45. |
