Alex, on the ONS website it gives a freephone number to check: +44 800 298 5313 to:

Confirm you've been invited to one of our studies

To verify the identity of an interviewer

Check your letter is genuine

It's probably a household survey, rather than you as an individual, and is likely to be genuine, I think -- unlike the scam phone call that I received today, asking about the fibre glass insulation that I have in my loft. Or the fake TV licence renewal insulation email that I received last night. So many scams, so annoying!

A letter claiming to be fron the Office of National Statistics (ONS) arrived on my doorstep today, In spite of saying that I am chosen it addresses me as "The Resident". I smell a rat! Has anyone else been "chosen" or as I suspect, is this another scam?
