I saw an advert for “Ignite”

So thought I’d venture out last night.

For 6pm I went down to St Mary’s,

Our local place where praise and prayer is.

As advertised, that if I went early

Tea, coffee and biscuits would be offered, surely.

But I didn’t actually take a biscuit

As timewise I just couldn’t risk it,

So quickly I found a place to sit

Then loved what followed - every bit!

Charlbury’s great for Riverside Festival,

The once-Cornbury-now-Wilderness, and Beer;

But the same music quality and sense of jollity

Could be found at St Mary’s, right here.

“Ignite” is a band with brilliant participants

Playing guitars, keyboard and drumkit:

Seriously well-practised instruments,

Though not, at the moment, a trumpet!

(Of which “Ignite”, I think, indeed

Would say there is no immediate need!)

The keyboard player’s AMAZING arpeggios

Displayed musicianship of the very best:

That is my personal confessio

Applauding drummer, singers and guitarists for the rest!

While the players had mid-breather

We had a time of reflection,

Not pressurising those not believers,

But nice and gentle, I thought I’d mention:

A short talk on Christ, all forgiving,

Accessible for all is his way of living

Offering us all God’s love to receive

Which we can choose to take or leave.

Nevertheless, the band was great -

I’ll be going again at any rate!

And so I come to a natural end,

Saying “Ignite” I STRONGLY RECOMMEND!
