Thank whoever's up there the flare wasn't powerful enough to fry our electric system, cf Quebec and Ontario ... 1989??

It's visible tonight as a pale red/pink glow. Nothing like as spectacular as the pics from Scotland though

I had a look at the sky last night Jean. You didn't miss anything.

They should be visible in the UK again tonight, though we'll be lucky to see them here.

The thought of putting out the bins tonight is mildly exciting.
