Google Blagdon  Liberty Pond Solar Pump........excellent available from Bicester World of Water , Bicester Avenue Garden Centre at about £80 now.

I bought a small pump for a very small water feature from ebay it was about £25 and came with 6 metres of cable to be plugged into my outside socket.  I removed it for the winter, so it did not get frozen and will put it back in for the Spring. I've just installed the electrical installation for an Oase Classic Fountain 750 and I certainly wouldn't rave about it, very poor performance. The client had previously purchased this item from Amazon. The 750, 1000 etc up to 4000 relates to various model's and does not and can not relate to the Watts/HP of the motor. 1HP is equally to 745.7 Watts. So the Oase 750 model  equated to something like 0.03 of 1HP, maybe less, can't remember what the current rating was.

I do recommend going to talk to the pond specialists at either Yarnton or Lechlade Garden Centres. Bicester also, although I haven't used them.

They were very clear in the recommendations! It might depend if you have a fountain and a pump on separate systems as I do. For my fountain I have an Oase Classic Fountain 1000. Other makes looked tempting online, but was advised that this was the most trouble free.
