The surface 'quality' (no laughing) of some roads never gets sorted leaving it in a permanently dire state; the road into Witney, as you get into the 30 limit, is a case in point.

With city type  cars which tend to have a smaller diameter wheels , damage is much more likely to the wheel and tyre. Rural roads and the increase in the number of pot holes being discussed , with dark and poorly marked roads , damage more likely ? Less likely to wear wellington boots in the city , and designer heals in a rural setting !  Had quite a lot of punctures in our mini over the years .

Particularly nasty one on Cox’s Lane near the Lidstone Road turn in Enstone especially in the rain and dark. Kris

That time a year again !!!!! never ending story , normally worse after a period of snow .

Best thing to do is have a car with large tires that glide over them
